Montgolfières du Mont-Blanc

Montgolfières du Mont-Blanc is a ballooning operator based in the Chablais, departing mainly from Évian-les-Bains, offering panoramic flights over Lake Geneva, the Chablais and its pre-Alps (Châtel, Morzine, Abondance valley) and, depending on the wind, as far as the Annecy basin and the Mont Blanc massif. Flights are run by a DGAC-certified pilot in a classic wicker basket seating typically 4 to 10 passengers.

A flight follows the ballooning ritual: very early-morning meet-up (5:30-7am depending on season), safety briefing, choice of take-off site based on winds, envelope inflation (~45 minutes), flight of about 1 hour at variable altitudes, landing in open country, kit packing by the ground crew and the traditional celebration toast (champagne) with the flight certificate. Plan about 3 hours on site.

The activity is strictly weather-dependent (light wind, no rain or storms, decent visibility). The pilot decides the previous evening or the same morning. Flying from the Chablais offers an outstanding panorama over all of Lake Geneva as far as Geneva itself, the Valais Alps to the south-east, the Mont Blanc massif and the Chablais pre-Alps.
