What is Thonon Sailing Club
The Cercle de la Voile de Thonon (CVT) is the historic French sailing club of Lake Geneva, based at the Port de Rives in Thonon-les-Bains. A member of the French Sailing Federation (FFV), it hosts a sailing school, organises club regattas on the lake and runs courses and training programmes for both adults and children.
The CVT covers all main disciplines: Optimist for children (from age 7), dinghies for teens and adults (Laser, 420), sport catamarans (Hobie Cat) and racing. Five-day courses run throughout the summer season, with private lessons and equipment hire also available. All instructors are FFV-qualified.
2026 prices: adult courses EUR 200-400 depending on discipline, child courses available. Season: April to October. Hours: lessons and rentals daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in season; out of season by appointment. Partially accessible for visitors with reduced mobility (adapted sailing on request).
