Avoriaz 1800 is an entirely pedestrian village-resort, in the commune of Morzine, in the Massif du Chablais. Designed from its creation without cars, it is renowned for its iconic angular architecture and its ski-in ski-out buildings: you get around on foot, by sled or by horse-drawn carriage.
The resort is part of the international Portes du Soleil ski area. On its own sector, Avoriaz has 54 pistes (8 green, 27 blue, 14 red, 6 black) served by 35 ski lifts, including the legendary Mur Suisse piste for experts.
Avoriaz is also a freestyle benchmark, with 4 snowparks, a boardercross and several snowcross tracks. On the Nordic side, a 23 km area spread over 7 trails rounds out the offer, for classic cross-country skiing and skating.
Off the slopes, the resort has its own tropical water park, Aquariaz, as well as snowshoe walks, horse-drawn carriage rides, dog sledding, an outdoor ice rink and sledging runs. A few kilometres away, Morzine adds its water park, its ice rink, the Nyon and Brochaux waterfalls, and the beach at Lake Montriond.
