What is Aquariaz

Aquariaz is a tropical water park located in the heart of the car-free resort of Avoriaz, at 1,800 m altitude in the Chablais massif (Haute-Savoie). Opened in 2012, the complex spans 2,400 m² of indoor and outdoor pools, decorated with lush vegetation (palm trees, baobabs, exotic plants), sculpted rocks and roots, creating a tropical lagoon atmosphere in the mountains.

The centre offers three complementary water zones: a children's area (heated paddling pool at 32 °C, water tree, slides, suspended water games), a relaxation pool (gentle lazy river bordered by tropical trees at 30 °C, 1.5 m swimming pool, aquatic climbing wall), and a thrills zone (Slidewinder, a 10 m high tube slide half-pipe style). An outdoor hot tub heated to 33 °C offers breathtaking views of the Portes du Soleil peaks.

Aquariaz is open two seasons per year: winter (December to April) for skiers and holidaymakers, and summer (June to August) for hikers and mountain bikers. No reservation is required (except for groups). Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult (18 years and over). The centre also offers complementary activities: aquafitness classes (Mon-Fri 10:30 am, 45 min + 15 min hot tub), private swimming lessons, Avoriaz Quest underwater escape game, and scuba diving initiation.

When to visit

When to visit

Aquariaz is open two seasons: in winter (December to mid-April) for skiers and holidaymakers, and in summer (late June to late August) for hikers and mountain bikers. In winter, the centre is very busy during school holidays and weekends (check the Affluences app to avoid crowds). In summer, the atmosphere is quieter and Avoriaz resort is often empty, making for a more intimate experience. The outdoor hot tub is particularly popular in winter after a day of skiing, with views of snow-capped peaks. Aquafitness sessions at 10:30 am allow you to enjoy the pools in the morning before afternoon crowds. In season, last entry at 6:45 pm, pool evacuation at 7:15 pm.
