What is Châtel Fantasticable

The Châtel Fantasticable is one of the most impressive giant zip-lines in the French Alps, set up on the Linga sector of the Portes du Soleil resort. The course consists of two successive cables: a first section of 1,200 metres, followed by a second of 1,325 metres, separated by an intermediate platform. You ride lying down in a flying-man position with a belly harness — close to paragliding without the pilot.

The sensation is powerful: heights reach up to 240 metres above the Plaine Dranse, and top speed approaches 100 km/h on the second cable. The panorama covers the Portes du Soleil peaks, the Abondance valley and, on clear days, the Mont Blanc massif in the background. Each ride lasts about a minute and a half — plan 1 h 30 on site with briefing, lift access and both descents.

The activity is operated by the resort's lift company. Entry conditions: solo weight between 35 and 120 kg; for duo flights, the lighter rider must be at least 35 kg, combined weight 90-150 kg, with a maximum gap of 40 kg between them. Limits may vary with weather. No technical skill is required.

Access to the start is via the Pierre Longue and Rochassons chairlifts, from the Linga sector in Châtel. The flat price is €43 per person for summer 2026, solo or duo. Booking advised in July-August via Châtel Réservation or directly at the Linga ticket office.
