What is La Patte Nordic
La Patte Nordic is a dog-sled operator active on the Les Gets ski area, a Chablais village resort within the Portes du Soleil domain. The musher trains a team of Nordic dogs (Siberian huskies, Alaskans depending on the line-up) and runs sessions designed to introduce mushing to the general public, in a setting of forest and high-altitude pastures.
The offering centres on sled rides in snow season (passenger seated on the musher's sled, towed by the team), mushing initiation (participant takes the helm after a full briefing) and cani-hiking (walking towed by a dog on a harness lead) when snow is lacking. Wheeled-kart sessions may also be offered off-season.
The activity depends closely on snow cover and is by booking only. Contact with the team (introducing the dogs, harnessing, mushing commands) always precedes the outing. When to visit
When to visit
The main season runs December to March-April depending on Portes du Soleil snow cover. Christmas and February holidays are in very high demand — book very early. Shoulder periods (early December, late March) often offer more flexibility and quieter conditions. Off-season, cani-hiking and wheeled formats remain possible, on request. Weather, snow or thaws may force a reschedule: allow some flexibility in your trip.
Events : The Portes du Soleil and Haute-Savoie host regional and national sled-dog races regularly (notably the Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont-Blanc), sometimes visible on neighbouring domains. The operator may offer special sessions (moonlight, kids' birthdays, year-end parties) announced in season.

Can I bring my own dog?
No. Visitors' dogs are not allowed near the team, for safety and to keep the working dogs calm.
