What is Parc Jean Beauquis
The Parc Jean Beauquis is the main public park of Ambilly, in the French Genevois right on the Swiss border, laid out at the heart of the town between the town hall and rue Jean-Jaurès. Its current layout is the result of a landscape programme led by the ADP Dubois agency between 2010 and 2013, which reorganised the town hall square, restructured the paths and created a large planted biotope pond.
Its roughly 1.5 hectares feature shaded rolling lawns, a biotope pond hosting dragonflies and seasonal aquatic plants, two children's play areas (toddlers and older kids), shaded benches and paths accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.
It is a local park used daily by residents of Ambilly, Annemasse and Gaillard for lunchtime breaks, family walks and weekend outings. Just 100 m from the Swiss border and 5 km from central Geneva, it is one of the most popular green spaces in the Greater Geneva area on the Haute-Savoie side.
