What is Plage Municipale de Thonon-les-Bains
The Plage Municipale de Thonon-les-Bains is a 3-hectare beach on the shore of Lake Geneva at Thonon-les-Bains, along the Quai de Ripaille. The largest fully equipped municipal beach on the French shore of the lake, it features a heated 50 m Olympic pool, a heated leisure pool, a paddling pool and an integrated water-sports centre run by the town.
The site offers a rare combination of facilities: diving boards at 1.50 m, 3 m, 5 m and 10 m, a 100 m water slide and a 3,000 sqm marked lake-swimming area. It is one of the few public sites in France to pair a full swimming-pool complex with a supervised lake beach. It holds the Blue Flag 2026 label.
