What is Léman Forest

Léman Forest is a tree-climbing adventure park at Saint-Gingolph, right on the Franco-Swiss border, along the Morge torrent. The park straddles the France–Switzerland border — a rare feature in Europe — and features a zip-line that crosses the border, nicknamed the smugglers' zip-line.

The park has 10 courses, including 4 for children (Bambino 2–5 and Lutin 5–8, with 30 challenges each less than 1.5 m off the ground) and 6 longer courses for ages 8+, including a black course for 16+. In total over 140 challenges: monkey bridges, Nepalese bridges, Tarzan nets, dozens of zip-lines, rock crossings and tunnels.

Safety is provided by a continuous lifeline and smart carabiners that cannot be unclipped — children climb in autonomy after briefing, parents staying on the ground. The park also offers an outdoor laser game, a snack bar with a panoramic terrace over Lake Geneva and the mountains, and welcomes groups, birthdays and hen/stag parties.

By car

From Évian-les-Bains (≈20 min) via the N5 then D1005 along Léman towards Saint-Gingolph. From Thonon-les-Bains (≈30 min) via the same road. From Geneva (≈1 h 15) via the A40 motorway + N5. Forest parking on Chemin du Crêt, signposted at the village entrance.

When to visit

Léman Forest operates from mid-April to All Saints' Day, with maximum hours in July-August (every day 10am–7pm). May-June and September offer ideal conditions: mild temperatures, moderate crowds, lush forest. Weekends and Zone A school holidays draw the biggest crowds — book ahead. The park is entirely weather-dependent: strong wind, heavy rain or storms lead to closure without notice, announced on the official website and Facebook page. Check the Swiss weather forecast (noted as more reliable by the operator) before coming.
