What is Thollon-les-Mémises

Thollon-les-Mémises is a small village resort in the Pays d'Évian, perched at 1 000 m above Lake Léman, about a dozen kilometres from Évian-les-Bains. A cable car (Poma Multix) links the village to the Mémises plateau and Pic des Mémises, between 1 400 and 1 974 m, with a renowned dual panorama over Lake Léman on one side and the Alps on the other.

The alpine ski area offers 16 slopes over 20 km, suited to beginners and intermediates. The lift pass is shared with the neighbouring Abondance/Essert area under the name Montagnes d'Évian, without the combined area's total being presented here as belonging to this resort alone.

On the cross-country side, Thollon-les-Mémises offers cross-country skiing as well as snowshoeing and ski touring routes (Pic des Mémises, Pic Boré, Pointe de la Pétalouse); the cross-country distance is not specified by official sources. The plateau is also home to a play area (Ludo Park), a toboggan run and a timed course, the Dré-Speed.

Awarded the Station Verte label, Thollon-les-Mémises remains a family-friendly, human-scale resort. In summer, the cable car keeps running to the Pas du Léman viewpoint (180° view over the lake and Switzerland), a starting point for hiking, paragliding and electrically-assisted mountain biking — a short distance from the off-slope activities along the shores of Lake Léman, on the Évian side.
