Bernex is a family-friendly village resort in the Pays d'Évian, nestled at the foot of the Dent d'Oche in the Chablais hills above Lake Léman. About a dozen kilometres from Évian-les-Bains, the resort spreads between 1 000 and 1 900 m in altitude (up to 2 000 m according to some sources).
The Bernex – Dent d'Oche alpine ski area offers 19 pistes covering around 50 km, from green to black, served by around a dozen lifts, with snowmaking to supplement natural snowfall.
A Nordic ski area of about 7,5 km complements the alpine offering for cross-country skiing, set against a backdrop of mid-mountain scenery facing Lake Léman.
In winter, Bernex also offers tobogganing, a covered natural ice rink in the village centre, and snowshoeing on marked trails. In summer, the resort is a well-known starting point for hiking to the Dent d'Oche (2 222 m), via the Dent d'Oche refuge and the Fétuière car park, as well as for mountain biking (Bernex Bike Park) and other family activities.
