What is Regional Art and Folklore Museum
The Regional Art and Folklore Museum of Fessy, better known as the Muséâm or Bernard Lacroix Museum, sits in an old 18th-c. family farm originally built by the Carthusians of Bellevaux. It holds the largest collection of rural objects in Haute-Savoie: over 20,000 pieces gathered over a lifetime by Bernard Lacroix, son of the village and great collector of alpine ethnology.
Every aspect of pre-modern peasant life is represented: smithy, bakery with bread oven, woodworking shop, clog-maker's workshops, weaving tools, press, carpentry shop. Guided tours on Thursdays in summer, €5; €3 reduced.
