Art, history, science and craft — Haute-Savoie indoors, to discover in any weather.
When the weather turns, or simply out of curiosity, the museums of Haute-Savoie tell the story of the mountains, Savoyard history, art and science — from the medieval fortress to the interactive centre.
In Annecy, the Musée-Château and the Palais de l'Île overlook the old town; La Turbine sciences takes a playful, interactive approach, ideal for families.
Elsewhere, the animation cinema museum, the Espace Tairraz in Chamonix (mountaineering and crystals) or the open-air heritage museums bring local know-how and history back to life.
Most open all year, with reduced hours out of season. Each listing shows the access, the commune and an official link.
A safe bet on rainy days: the majority of museums are fully indoors.
