What is Museum of Fauna

The Museum of Fauna is one of the two Bellevaux museums, in this heritage village of the Brevon valley (Haut-Chablais). Under the town hall on the village square, it presents over 200 naturalised animals representative of the Haute-Savoie mountain fauna: chamois, ibex, marmots, foxes, lynxes, stoats, squirrels, black grouse, ptarmigans, golden eagles, bearded vultures, plus the main forest and alpine-pasture birds.

The animals are staged in reconstructed natural habitats — forests, alpine pastures, scree, mountain lakes — that bring them to life. Interactive sound stations teach visitors to recognise the calls and songs of the mountains. Adult €4, child €3.
