What is La Ferme du Petit Mont

La Ferme du Petit Mont is an organic goat farm in Bellevaux, in the Chablais area. All the dairy is processed on site into cheeses: Chevrotin AOP, goat tomme, raclette, blue, fresh lactic, plus yoghurts, flans, and homemade charcuterie (sausages, smoked ham) from the farm's pigs.

The site operates on two levels: it's a real working farm, selling its produce directly in the on-site shop; it's also an educational farm open to the public, with a free self-guided visit, no booking required. You'll meet goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits and two donkeys — Clarinette and Fripon — along the route. The mix of animals and the direct contact make it a great family day out.

The workshops and activities offer is broad: donkey walks, syrup and jam making with garden plants, 'caretaker for a day' immersion, cheese-making workshops with demonstrations, treasure hunts and an escape game. To extend the visit, the farm offers unusual stays: the Chevrotin Cabin, the Abondance Cottage and the Beaufort Cottage.

Hours: shop and self-guided visit Monday to Saturday, 9-12 and 14-18. Closed Sundays and public holidays. Workshop and stay rates on the official site or by phone. Address: 746 route de la Côte, 74470 Bellevaux.
