What is Haute-Savoie Departmental Firefighters Museum

The Haute-Savoie Departmental Firefighters Museum is housed at the Domaine de Guidou on the heights of Sciez, on Lake Geneva. Run by the Haute-Savoie Firefighters Union (UDSP 74) in partnership with the SDIS 74, it traces over a century of fire and rescue equipment and the rescuers who shaped the local memory.

The collection covers the 1900s to today: 19th-c. hand pumps, historic fire vehicles (pump trucks, tankers), period uniforms (copper helmets, jackets, breathing apparatus), extrication tools, extinguishers, hoses. Adult €5, child €3.50. Check opening days on the UDSP 74 website.
