Musée de Préhistoire et Géologie de Sciez

The Museum of Prehistory and Geology of Sciez is a small local museum in Sciez (74140), on the shore of Lake Geneva, in Haute-Savoie. The museum presents varied collections on the geological and prehistoric history of the Lake Geneva area and the Northern Alps: fossils, minerals, flint and polished stone tools, remains of prehistoric civilisations (Palaeolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages) and Roman fragments occasionally found in the area. It's a volunteer-run museum, with guided tours and collection care provided by passionate volunteers.

The museum is aimed at families with children from age 6-7 (curious about history and natural sciences), school groups (by booking), local archaeology enthusiasts and visitors staying in Sciez or around the lake.
