What is Notre Histoire - Rumilly Museum

The municipal museum "Notre Histoire" at Rumilly is one of the most contemporary museums in Haute-Savoie in terms of curation. Housed at 5 place de la Manufacture in the former tobacco manufactory (an emblematic industrial building of the town), it takes a distinctive, contemporary look at the history of the town of Rumilly and its surrounding region (the Albanais), between Lake Annecy and Lake Bourget.

The collection route presents paintings, prints, sculptures and craft and industry objects that help to understand Rumilly and how it has evolved: historic capital of the Albanais, industrial town (tobacco manufactory, Tefal), a town caught between urban and rural worlds. The modern scenography, the absence of any "dusty" curation and the engagement of the mediators make it a lively museum, particularly well-suited to younger audiences.

Very accessible prices: full price €3.70, reduced rate €3 (over 65, jobseekers, RSA, AAH, ASPA benefits), free for everyone on Wednesdays, free all year for under-22s and students. Hours: Wednesday-Saturday 2.30 pm-5.30 pm, closed Sunday-Tuesday and public holidays. Annual closures: 8-26 August and 23-26 December 2026. Temporary exhibition 2026: "Rumilly, town or countryside?" running from 11 February 2026 to 2 January 2027. Contact: +33 (0)4 50 64 64 18.
