What is Heritage Trail: A Walk through Andilly
The Andilly Heritage Trail is a free self-guided interpretive walk crossing the commune of Andilly, in Haute-Savoie, on the south side of the Col du Mont Sion, 6 km north-west of Cruseilles. It comprises 36 illustrated panels spread across the commune's three villages — Charly, Jussy and Saint-Symphorien — and draws on Dominique Bouverat's book "Andilly – Charly, Jussy et Saint-Symphorien – Pages d'histoire".
Designed by the commune and the local association, the trail tells the rural and religious story of the Genevois: 15th-century chapels (the Saint-Jacques chapel of Charly, whose bell tower has been listed as a Monument historique since 1975), fountains, bread ovens, granite houses and traces of village life.
A waymarked variant called "Sur les traces des graniteurs du Mont Sion" extends the walk towards the col, evoking the Piedmontese and Lombard stonecutters who worked the granite in the 19th century. The route can be followed as a single loop or village by village — an ideal cultural stop between Cruseilles, the Saleve and the Geneva border.
