Pointe Helbronner (3 466 m)
The Panoramic Mont-Blanc gondola is a cross-border cable car between France and Italy, linking the summit of the Aiguille du Midi cable car (3,777 m) to the Pointe Helbronner (3,466 m, Italy) in about 30 minutes. Operated by the Compagnie du Mont-Blanc on the French side and connected to the Skyway Monte Bianco on the Italian side, it spans 5 km above the Géant Glacier.
The journey is made in pulsed 4-seat cabins, with no contact with other passengers. The view takes in the Géant Glacier, the Mont Blanc du Tacul, the Grandes Jorasses and the Dent du Géant - one of the most spectacular glacier panoramas in Europe accessible without crampons.
At Pointe Helbronner on the Italian side, a panoramic terrace projects out at 3,466 m, with exhibitions on the minerals of the massif and a connection to the Skyway Monte Bianco down to Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley. Summer season: 4 July to 27 September 2026, weather permitting. Booking strongly recommended; pass priced as a supplement to the Aiguille du Midi ticket.

Access to the Panoramic Mont-Blanc is only via the Aiguille du Midi cable car from Chamonix. From Geneva (≈1h15) via the A40 then E25, Chamonix-Sud exit. Grépon (town centre, covered) or Aiguille du Midi (outdoor) car parks. No car access to the departure point.
