From the belvedere reached by car to the summit that has to be earned, Haute-Savoie offers panoramas over Lac d'Annecy, Léman and the Mont-Blanc massif. Some are gained on foot, others by cable car.
Above Annecy, Mont Veyrier and the Semnoz overlook the lake; on the Geneva border, Le Salève is reached by cable car. Higher still, the Aiguille du Midi opens up the high mountains facing Mont-Blanc.
For passes and plateaus, the Plateau de Solaison, the Pont de la Caille and the great passes of the Aravis and the Colombière offer open views, often reachable by car or by bike.
Some viewpoints are gained on foot, others by cable car or by car. Each listing specifies the means of access and the commune.
At altitude, check the weather and the seasonal opening of the passes, closed in winter under the snow.
