Greenways & cycling

Cycle paths and greenways — riding with the family, flat and away from the cars.

On former railway lines or along the rivers and the lake, greenways offer flat, secure kilometres — by bike, on foot or on rollerblades, away from the traffic.

The Lac d'Annecy greenway, one of the busiest in France, links Annecy to Doussard along the western shore — entirely flat and paved.

Elsewhere, the ViaRhôna, the Arve valley cycle route and the Chablais greenway extend the network towards the Rhône, Chamonix and Léman.

These routes are free and suit families, e-bikes and pushchairs. Each listing gives the length and the starting commune.

Bike hire is available in Annecy and the main departure towns; worth planning in high season.
