What is Le Grand-Bornand

Le Grand-Bornand is a village resort in the Massif des Aravis, around thirty kilometres from Annecy. It has its own ski area, a twin to but distinct from La Clusaz's, built around two hubs: the village of Le Grand-Bornand and the hamlet of Chinaillon, the resort's main high-altitude sector.

For alpine skiing, the area offers 90 km of slopes spread over 48 pistes (14 green, 16 blue, 13 red, 5 black), served by 24 lifts, between the village (1 000 m) and Mont Lachat de Châtillon, the highest point at 2 050 m. Riders will find a snowpark ranked among the top 10 in France, complemented by three beginner areas including a Môm'Park, and five marked ski touring routes.

Le Grand-Bornand is also a major Nordic skiing destination: the Vallée du Bouchet area unrolls 74,5 km of trails over twelve loops (from 1 to 15 km), with three biathlon stadiums including one IBU-certified, complemented by snowshoeing and Nordic walking routes.

Off the slopes, the resort cultivates an authentic Savoyard village atmosphere with many nearby sites: the Chinaillon waterfall, the Jallouvre via ferrata, the Pointe Percée geological trail, dog sledding with Nordic Event 74 or archery at GrandBo Archerie extend the stay, in winter as in summer.
