What is Le Reposoir

Le Reposoir is a small, authentic village resort in the vallée du Foron, at an altitude of around 980 m, nestled beneath the Bargy and the chaîne du Reposoir, at the foot of the col de la Colombière.

Its ski area, known as « Les 3 villages », is a family alpine ski area spread over two sectors: the village sector, with a snow garden and green, blue and red runs, and the Chalet Neuf sector, more advanced, beneath the chaîne du Bargy. It is equipped with 5 drag lifts and 1 rope tow for beginners, as well as a magic carpet for ski lessons, snow cannons and a toboggan run for children. A ski school (ESF) and equipment rental round out the offer.

Around the village, there is also room for snowshoeing (guided or independent outings, including at night) and ski touring, with numerous routes across the three surrounding massifs; no groomed cross-country ski area is announced by official sources.

Away from the slopes, the village is home to the Chartreuse du Reposoir, a former Carthusian monastery listed as a historic monument, and provides summer access to the col de la Colombière (closed in winter); nearby, on the Grand-Bornand side, the cascade du Chinaillon and the resort of Le Grand-Bornand extend the discovery of the valley.
