What is Plage de Messery

The Plage de Messery 'Sous les Prés' is a beautiful lawn beach about 400 metres long on the Messery peninsula, facing Nyon (Switzerland, Vaud canton) on the opposite shore of Lake Geneva. A gentle slope into the water, a pebble-and-gravel bed (water shoes recommended) and shaded areas make it a family-friendly stop with wide views of the Vaud Alps.

The village of Messery has two beaches: the main 'Sous les Prés' (400 m of lawn) and the smaller, more confidential 'La Pointe'. A snack-bar opens in season at Sous les Prés, along with paddle and pedalo hire. Swimming is not supervised, so parental vigilance is recommended for children.

Lifeguards: unsupervised swimming. 2026 summer prices: adult free (paying car park 3 EUR/day, 1 June-15 Sept, with badge), child free. Blue Flag 2026: no. Step-free access: yes (gentle slope).
