What is Plage de Tougues

The Plage de Tougues is a shaded lawn and pebble beach on Lake Geneva at Chens-sur-Léman (and not Anthy-sur-Léman, a common confusion), near the Swiss border. Century-old trees offer rare shade right at the water's edge, in a natural setting west of Thonon, on the way to Geneva.

The beach features a designated barbecue area (a rarity on Haute-Savoie beaches), children's playgrounds and picnic tables. The Restaurant du Port de Tougues nearby serves lake fish, making the beach a popular family stop for residents of the Bas-Chablais and the Greater Geneva area.

Lifeguards: unsupervised swimming - confirmation pending in the 2026 municipal order. 2026 summer prices: adult free, child free. Blue Flag 2026: no. Step-free access: partial.
