What is Port des Clerges - Watersports Centre

The Port des Clerges watersports centre is the historic facility at Thonon-les-Bains for paddling and rowing on Lake Geneva. Set on the chemin de Montjoux, east of Thonon's main harbour, it was built in the early 1980s and is home to resident clubs for rowing (Chablais Aviron Thonon) and canoe-kayak, as well as school groups and associations from across the Chablais.

Since April 2018 the centre has been managed by Thonon Agglomeration, which has launched a restructuring programme estimated at around 7 million euros (of which roughly 3 million for the dyke) to secure the facility and develop water sports on the lake.

Through its clubs, the centre offers rowing introductions on Lake Geneva, coastal rowing, leisure outings, canoe-kayak and seasonal courses. It is a quiet launch point to explore Lake Geneva away from the main harbour and the Rives bay promenade.
