What is Bout du Lac d'Annecy Discovery Trail

The Sentier pédagogique du Bout du Lac d'Annecy crosses the National Nature Reserve of the Bout du Lac d'Annecy, created in 1974 over 84 hectares at the delta of the Ire and Eau-Morte rivers. It is one of the two national nature reserves on the lake (alongside Sixt-Passy), a protected wetland of regional importance.

The site was redeveloped in May 2010 with a 1.6 km loop fully accessible for visitors with reduced mobility, thanks to wooden boardwalks over the marshy zones. A longer 7 km loop extends the discovery through the reedbeds, the delta and the surrounding woodland, with interpretation panels on the flora, fauna and lake ecology.

Free entry all year. Difficulty: very easy. Distance: 1.6 km accessible loop / 7 km full loop. Best season: April to October. Free parking at the trailhead in Doussard. Dogs on leads accepted, pushchairs and wheelchairs welcome on the short loop.
