What is Megève

Megève is a chic village resort in the Pays du Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie, built around its historic village between 1 027 m (the village) and a communal high point of 2 485 m. Renowned for its upscale atmosphere, it remains above all a resort designed for accessible, family-friendly skiing.

Megève skis within the linked Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which brings together Megève and the neighbouring resorts of Saint-Gervais, Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce, Les Contamines-Montjoie and Combloux: altogether, this ski area boasts around 400 km of pistes, 228 runs (34 green, 53 blue, 78 red, 41 black) and 40 ski lifts. On Megève itself, skiing takes place across the Rochebrune, Mont d'Arbois and Jaillet sectors — accessible and family-friendly, with a few more challenging passages for experienced skiers.

The resort rounds out its offering with 3 snowparks equipped with boardercross runs and a Nordic ski area of around 40 km, as well as a sledging area, snowshoe outings and ski touring. The Jaillet sector, served by the Télécabine du Jaillet, also acts as a gateway to the neighbouring Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area (Combloux, Cordon, La Giettaz), linked to but distinct from the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area.

Away from the slopes, Megève offers the Palais ice rink and the Le Stelsia casino, and nearby the Belle au Bois waterfall, the Baroque trail and the 360° panoramic viewpoint at Combloux (Table d'orientation de la Cry).
