Among the must-sees: the Cascade du Dard near Chamonix, the Cascade de la Diomaz at Bellevaux, the cave and waterfall of Seythenex, or the Cascade de Nyon at Morzine.

For gorges, the famous Gorges du Fier near Annecy unfurl their walkways suspended above the torrent — a developed visit, accessible to all.

The majority of waterfalls are free to access; a few developed sites (Gorges du Fier, Grotte de Seythenex) require a ticket. Each listing shows the access and walking time.

Full flow is best seen in spring, during the snowmelt, and after heavy rain. Take care on slippery surroundings: closed shoes recommended.
